You don’t need to be complete to love
You don’t need to have all your shits together, completely heal yourself to be able to love.
You don’t need someone else to complete you either.
Love doesn’t have to be intense, over the moon or even significant to be meaningful.
When I was depressed and withdrawn, I was still able to make friends simply by being honest. I was still able to enjoy hanging out with friends, sharing a cup of coffee and long conversations.
Even when I didn’t open up to confess how low I thought about myself, I was still able to enjoy the relationship.
These seemingly casual moments might not have been significant enough to save me from my low self-esteem but they were definitely beautiful memories.
And they accumulated. Even years later, these bright moments during my darker days accumulated to the tipping point of spurting me on my own self-discovery journey.
It is possible to see the beauty and joy even in the darkness.
It is possible for us to love and feel joy even when we feel broken inside.
The truth is that everyone has their own issues and baggages. Nobody has all their stuffs together.
And love, in its multiple dynamic forms, can be the reprieve we need, a glimpse we can look, a fleeting light we can see.
It is still beautiful and meaningful.
Even in our broken state, we can still appreciate the moment and let the joy gradually uplift us.
